What did you say?

Thought: Speaking in public can be tricky, just ask a politician these days. The words can be interpreted in many way - depending on the individual(s) you are speaking with. Take for instance, a person that started their day on the positive,  she may only see the beauty of her ride into the office and the person that started their day on the negative can only see the potholes, rain, bad drivers etc. Without knowing how each person in your area started their day, we need to be careful how we put our thoughts out in front of everyone ~ especially when it can be taken personally. A sentence like, "this refrigerator is a mess" can be taken as "it's always my burden to clean this box out" or "I'm feeling a bit guilty because I have not cleaned up my stuff in the fridge".
See the difference?
Affirmation: I see people through my heart and do not judge them. It is up to me to filter my thoughts before I speak and filter what I hear so that my spirit can continue to grow in the positive.





Always consult your intuition/ inner guidance

Thought: have you ever been in a situation when you had a hunch that you were doing something that was not for your higher good? For example, the other day I was in a phone store deciding if I wanted to buy a hotspot adapter for my IPad, Laptop etc. Though I was feeling uncertain, I found myself in line to talk with the sales person about purchasing one. It was costly but even more bothering - it was another 2 year contract and my intuition was screaming to walk away. My instincts were so strong that I left the store.
The amazing part: 20 minutes later an employee for the Apple Store showed me that my phone can be tethered and used as a hotspot at a fraction of the price. Intuition/Inner Guidance?
Affirmation: I trust myself and my intuition. All the answers I need to anything in life can be found within me if I ask for guidance and act on it.


Sister? You got your light on?

Thought: Just like everything else, the inner light needs nourishment. The soul's light is fueled by our love of self, life and existence. How do we keep our light bright? Conscious living ~  taking time to meditate, appreciate and activate our inner love of self and the life we live.

Today's Working Woman

Thought: What is it like to be a Woman in the work force today?
The women today seldom stop everything once their paid job is completed for the day. In this
 "super-society" the clock actually ticks louder before and after the time card has been punched, i.e.children, community, church, household duties, and maybe a personal maintenance item or two.
Remember the commercial, "Bring home the bacon ~ fry it up in the pan". 
The point: you and only you make your schedule for the day. Don't forget to put YOU on the to~do list!
Affirmation: I am a beautiful, smart and strong woman ~ I will take care of myself by scheduling ME on the list of things that need taken care of  each day.

When you're in a room filled with children, ever notice how content they are with the smallest things? The butterfly outside the window, the music coming out of their toy, or the wonderment of mixing colors to create a new picture for the refrigerator?
As adults, we often forget to stop and and marvel at the small things in life. Our thoughts whirling around about the big responsibilities we carry or how we can squeeze in one more phone call to the client that is ever so needy. Always thinking, "I will get to my wants and needs later".
Affirmation: Slowing down is mandatory in my life. It helps me be present when interacting with family, friends and especially me.

Thought: Change is inevitable


In order to make it through the natural changes we women go through, we must continue to educate ourselves.
This will make the difference between being locked in or stepping out of the box when it comes to liv
ing life fully.
Whether it's weight gain, uncontrollable anxiety, or loss of interest ~ it can all be conquered though self awareness and education.
Affirmation: I love my life and will live it fully.
 
 

It's normal to have ups and downs ~


Thought:  Sometimes we doubt ourselves - we think we don't have enough of what we think we should have in this life. There is always someone with more but remember there is always someone with less.





Affirmation:
I realize that the love for life is nurtured within me. I may not have all that I want, but I have what I need to build what I want.

Reaching out ~

Thought: 
 How many times have you sat in the same room with the same people and you don't even know them?
It could be work, community, church or kid activities.

Out with the Bad and in with the Good!

Breaking the Bad Habit

Breaking a bad habit is a hard path to take, but, on the other hand it will be the most rewarding path you  take in your entire life. If you smoke, drink, eat poorly, use drugs or have the habit of self doubt and destruction ~ you still hold the power of change.

 "It's your life ~ create the one you want to live.".

It's amazing how much of our personal power we give away in our lives. We give the power to other people and their opinions, to bad self image, and habits we know are bad for us physically and mentally. Funny how most of us humans don't get the process of using our personal power to achieve goals, love life fully, and untangle ourselves from terrible habits. 

Removing the bad habit that is keeping you from being all you can be:

  1.  It has been said that a habit can be formed or broken in 21 days. Keep your focus on  the next 3 weeks.
  2. Replace the Bad with Good. Example: Switch the Cheeseburger and Fries for a large colorful Salad filled with Fruits and Vegetables that you love.
  3. Visualize your life without the habit. Freedom.
  4. Utilize the Buddy System - Get a friend or family member to be your tracking buddy
  5. Set a regiment for the time slot usually filled by your habit, Example: if you want to stop drinking and it usually begins after 5 pm, fill this time slot with a walk or hobby.
  6. Journal your success and struggles. Write it down and watch your transformation on paper. You will be so proud of yourself.

Self-Talk ~ building your life one word at a time

Self - Talk is the single most powerful influence on self esteem, self worth, and the ability to achieve your highest goals and dreams of life. Did you know - we have about 50,000 thoughts a day? Whether these thoughts are positive or negative they have a very powerful effect on your life. The continual stream of conversation that goes on inside your head is determining how your life's journey will unfold.

~Very much like a "Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" ~ 
 Thinking about something so much it actually happens.
Positive or Negative!
Self-Talk is often the product of the values or behaviors of childhood.

It's hard to corral 50,000 thoughts daily but if you start with correcting the most prevalent negative thought and turning it into a positive, it will start breaking the pattern instilled most likely from childhood.

Here are some ideas to create change in your thinking patterns:
  • Start tuning into your thoughts
  • Carry a notebook and journal as many thoughts as you can
  • Sort thoughts into three categories
    • first: write what you want to happen in your life
    • second: write your first self response to item in column 1
    • third: write an opposite thought of the one in two previous columns
  • Take a look at your list ~ if column two is more positive than three, you are on the right road. If column three is more positive than two, this is what you want interject into your head chatter.

Here's a parting thought: your subconscious does not differentiate one thought from another - it doesn't know that you don't really mean the negative words. It just plays them out into your life experience, as if that's what you really want to happen. 
In other words ....your thoughts are very powerful.  
Choose them wisely.
