Living Dolls Inc. Thought: Personal Happiness. Each day brings us a mixture of challenges and conquests of which we have no control. It is important to stay balanced within ourselves by being thankful that we can choose happiness as our center. When you wake up in the morning conscientiously say to yourself, "I am happy and will remain ...happy throughout this day" and you will be amazed at the difference it will make in your life. Embrace yourself with compassion and believe that you deserve happiness.

Can men and women be "just friends," or is sexual attraction between the sexes always inevitable?
You know "that guy" around the office or at the gym that you can't wait to see because the two of you have hit it off so well that your world is now wrapped around his phone calls, text messages, coffee and cocktail dates? The two of you feel like your soul mates. You agree on almost everything and you feel like together you can accomplish anything - - - sounding familiar?
It happens all the time. You start out as interesting friends, "you get" each other, the next thing you know you are having those secret what if thoughts. . . What if we could spend our lives together as a couple - "Wouldn't it be great to have a partner that is actually your soul mate"? You can imagine the two of you spending long hours at work, long hours at play and long hours laying in bed!
The question: Can you outlive the 90 day cycle? The peak, the rush, the first ninety days of the romance that continually fills your heart with light? Or can you remain friends without bringing love into it?
After all, Men and Women were placed on this earth to procreate! Can you keep the sexual/love feelings out of the situation and remain in a platonic relationship with the opposite sex? Hmmmmmmmmm.
Come with me to a quiet place .............................
Come away from your work, your family, your homemaking, your ministry, your friends. Even more, come away from your fears and your worries, your roles and your masks, your planning and doing.
Jesus is inviting you to come away to rest in God's love for some time each day. The gifts God will give to you in prayer will touch the rest of your day with the special peace that only God can give.
Whether your belief is related to God, Buddha, the universal energy or the earth - you can agree on the words that were written in this book that my elderly friend has lived by for the past 90 years !

Declaring your project/Creating the life you love
Now that you have done some interior research, it's time to take these thoughts and write down the project that you would like to launch. Call it "My Project". Even if you aren't sure about what you want, take a stab and write as much as you can. Try not to get hung up on the details, (they will come later), just write from your heart.
"Living Your Life to the Fullest"
Project examples: Work from home and design clothes - become a fitness trainer and travel the world on cruise ships - find that life partner you have dreamed about - own a boutique graphic design firm - event planning company - continue to work your regular job and develop your interest in photography or any talent that needs your attention to flourish.
Getting Started
. Write it down. Create your first draft of your dream project
Hints:
Dream, Imagine, visualize.
Create the biggest picture possible for you and your project.
The Bigger you Dream the Higher you Fly
Embrace your Resistance
If you get Stuck - take a break
Get passionate about it and don't give up
Congratulations! This is a huge step that will lead you to "Living your Life to the Fullest". As we all know, in life anything worth while is not a quick fix and that applies to this project. Take it slow. Write your hopes and dreams today. Reread them tomorrow. Rewrite on the third day. Speak them out loud on the fourth and by the fifth day you should have your thoughts ready to expand on.
Note: watch for continued coaching on this project - Creating the life you love
Shame
It is important to remember that shame is learned and that anything that is learned can be unlearned. Shame was used to control us when we were younger, and now we often use it to control others. When we start feeling ashamed, no new information can come in , we cannot process information clearly, and we cannot communicate clearly. We are in our addictive disease.
It is important to see the role shame has played in our lives. It is also important not to stay stuck in it.

Eat, Pray, Love
The grand opening of the movie - Eat, Pray, Love was last night. The Living Dolls Inc. site has been promoting this event for months and I must say it was worth it. The theater was filled with (mostly) women that included several of the "Dolls" that write and comment on our FB fan page.It was a fun event filled with comfort that only sisters can provide.
The movie: once I moved past the chopping of the book, I was thrilled to see the characters come to life before my eyes on the big screen. This is a book that I have read, dogeared, reread and discussed at length with my sisters and written about on Living Dolls Inc many times. As you might imagine, I couldn't wait to meet Liz. Actually, I didn't like Julia Roberts right off the bat - she was great but she just wasn't the Liz that lived in my heart. She definitely grew on me as did the rest of the characters and by the end of the movie I adored each and everyone of them.
The point I want to make: the topics addressed here are very deep and personal to each and everyone of us. I don't mean to say that everyone of us has the same issues in life but we all have the same emotional make up. The book makes us realize that if we don't do something to insure that we live our life to the fullest - it will just go on and eventually end without ever knowing who we are - how we feel - or what we love and why. The question - can you handle the truth when you see it?
Busyness/What lengths we go to keep away from ourselves!
What lengths we go to keep away from ourselves!
We have such an inability to relax. There are always just a few more tasks we can get done. Sometimes it almost seems that we are afraid of what might happen if we let our minds be idle for even a moment. We fill in every crack and crevice with activity. Sometimes, we even try to crowd two or more activities in at once, like making out a list of things that need to be done while we watch the news, or directing the activities of the kids while we are working on a report.
We have become addicted to busyness, and if we are not busy we feel worthless, at a loss and even frightened.

Etiquette - still important in today's world?
Return calls and answer letters promptly. You should be sure to return all calls within forty-eight hours and letters within two weeks. If you cannot respond within that time - hire someone to do it for you!
Telephone etiquette. When you call someone and another call beeps in, ignore it. You made the call, so you should give it priority. Be respectful of a person's schedule and obligations when choosing a time to call.
Know how and when to apologize. Always make your apology as soon as possible after the event. Some acts require only a spoken apology, others require a spoken and written apology, and some require much more.
Write thank you notes for gifts, favors, meals,or any acts of kindness, Also write notes to encourage, congratulate, and commiserate.
RSVP within one week to a invitations. Go to an event when you have accepted and call ahead if you can't make it. If you accept and call ahead if you can't make it. If you accept an invitation and then fail to attend, call or write to apologize.
Watch your table manners. This can't be stressed enough. Do not leave your dirty napkin on the table when you excuse yourself during a meal, leave it on your chair instead. Wipe your mouth frequently. When finished, move your fork and knife to the right-hand rim of the plate and sit up straight.
Today's lifestyle is so fast paced. We eat fast foods while driving our cars between appointments - text our friends or leave thank you notes of facebook and as a member of many organizations, I know first hand that not too many of us take the time to RSVP our monthly events. This review of etiquette is good for all of us!

The Beginning
Wow that’s a tall woman! Or Geez she is sooooooooooo tall! How about the forgiving statement – gosh she doesn't look too bad for a tall woman. These are the statements I have heard all my life being said about me – it was tough growing up as the tallest girl in school.
I feel pretty good about myself these days – I actually feel really great about myself ! I love who I have grown into over the years..It has been a long road becoming the 512Doll (6 foot woman) that I am today.
Let me give you a peek at how a tall gawky ballet girl grows up.
It starts with “how’s the weather up there?” I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to spit and say its raining - Remember High School – or better yet – Jr. High School. I was standing in the middle of the “A” group in the lunchateria when Gene Young ( a very cool boy from the only trailer park in the hood) says to everyone – Geeez look at all the hairs in Cyndee’s nose! Or how I always was barefoot and walked in the gutter when hanging out with the neighborhood kids? In high school it was more of the same but by then I had developed this great sense of humor and made jokes out of it all. The thing was though, I never had a date or went to the prom or had a sweetheart and yep it did bother me.
My nickname was Big Bird (from Sesame Street) – it went on so long the new kids actually thought my name was Roberta! As the years went on I grew into this – 512 Doll standing in front of you – one step at a time. I managed to accomplish many different jobs and lifestyles on my journey. –There was always something missing. Self Esteem.
Funny, maybe I was good looking but who knew? All I saw when I looked in the mirror was a too tall gawky girl from Waverly Ohio.
This where my company Living Dolls Inc was born. Living = Living your Life to the Fullest and Doll is a term of endearment between my sisters and girlfriends – Doll Face.We help women especially, learn to live their life to the fullest through incubators, coaching and self discovery. Our topics run from daily affirmations to the importance of your circle of friends, getting dumped, turning 50, cougars, etc. Want to change your life? We have incubators that consist of the right mix of people to help you write your business plan and get started on your new life we also coach, train provide seminars.
All this from the tall gawky ballet girl from Waverly Ohio.

What if?
Last night I went to see the movie "Letters to Juliet"with an open mind and a hopeful attitude as I love the leading lady - Sophie,( Amanda Seyfried), that was also the daughter - Sophie - in"Mamma Mia". There was no reference stating that this was the same character that moved from one movie to the other but it didn't seem to hinder the plot at all.
Although a predictable movie, I found it quite charming and it left me filled with the hope that there is a chance for us middle-aged women that feel like they missed the love boat. The question - What if? - is still heavy on my mind and in my heart. Life flies by so quickly. One day you look up and you realize that you have spent a quarter of a century in a business relationship or a loveless marriage or just wandering around living without the feeling of complete love and friendship. The message is so needed and that is why I think every woman should see this movie and get a renewed look at the possibilities the universe has to offer.
The movie is about an American girl on a pre-honeymoon with a self-indulgent man who is preoccupied with Italian products that he is buying for a new restaurant that he is opening. She finds that she has lots of free time and wanders into the fictional lover's Verona courtyard and finds a letter that was written in 1957 but never found. The story unfolds from there when she finds the author of the letter and talks her and her grandson into finding the long-lost lover referenced in the note.
Like I said, I found it delightful, fulfilling, and the predictability comforting. The feelings of hope are here to stay and I may take the step to find a lost love one of these days:)

Instructions for Freedom

If you haven't read it yet, read "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's a story about one woman's journey of self-discovery -- first to Italy to enjoy sensuality, love of self and good food; next to India to discover her spiritual centre; and then to Indonesia to tie them all together. It's a great book.
In one chapter, she's at an ashram in India. She is instructed to go to the roof of the ashram, watch the stars come out, and to come back down again when she can let go.Here are her Instructions for Freedom:
1) Life's metaphors are God's instructions.

1) Life's metaphors are God's instructions.
2) You have just climbed up and and above the roof. There is nothing between you and the Infinite. Now, let go.
3) The day is ending. It's time for something that was beautiful to turn into something else that is beautiful. Now, let go.
4) Your wish for resolution was a prayer. Your being here is God's response. Let go, watch the stars come out -- on the outside and on the inside.
5) With all your heart, ask for grace, and let go.
6) With all your heart, forgive him, FORGIVE YOURSELF, and let him go.
7) Let your intention be freedom from useless suffering. Then, let go.
8) Watch the heat of day pass into the cool night. Let go.
9) When the karma of a relationship is done, only love remains. It's safe. Let go.
10) When the past has passed from you at last, let go. Then climb down and begin the rest of your life. With great joy.
